Philippine Tarsier 1/2

Posted by
rick (brisbane, Australia) on 5 March 2013 in Animal & Insect.

This little primate is so tiny he could fit in my hand. These creatures are endemic to the Philippines but a similar animal lives in nearby Borneo.
The tarsier is nocturnal and hunts by leaping from tree to tree (or shrub) and catches insects. It has very long legs in proportion to its body and can leap up to 3 metres.
This photo was taken in a free-roaming sanctuary.
